Lip Reconstruction Patient 01
Description:
This patient developed a basal cell cancer of the upper lip which was excised by a Mohs surgeon. The lip reconstruction was completed using a vermillion advancement technique which minimized the scarring seen on the upper lip. There is a slight loss of definition of the vermillion border, but the overall shape and lack of distortion of the lip are quite good. The scarring is very acceptable. The last photo shows that lipstick can easily hide the scarring. She even was able to have a lip augmentation as a side effect of the procedure.
